Oak Brook is a unique near-western suburb in that it has a large land mass (over 8 square miles), but a small population (approximately 9,000).  Oak Brook is arranged in a traditional subdivision format, many of which are gated.  This is an extremely affluent near-western suburb comprised exclusively of custom homes.

Oak Brook boasts being a corporate center as it hosts Fortune 100 companies, including McDonald’s Corporation, Blistex, Federal Signal Corporation and Ace Hardware.

The Oak Brook Center shopping mall is a destination regional, outdoor mall, with high-end retailers, such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Tiffany.  The mall’s theme is shopping among the flowers.  As a result of this mall’s huge success and contribution to Oak Brook’s tax base, Oak Brook residents have one of the lowest real estate tax rates in Illinois.

Oak Brook is serviced by three separate high school systems: York High School from Elmhurst, Downers Grove North High School and Hinsdale Central High School.  The school scores in Oak Brook are consistently high

Oak Brook enjoys easy access into the city of Chicago by car via Interstate 290.  By air, O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport are about 30 minutes away.

Oak Brook has one of the best funded park districts in the area.  It boasts one of only two polo fields in the Chicago metropolitan area.  Moreover, it contains the beautiful Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve.
