LaGrange

LaGrange

LaGrange is an affluent near-western suburb of Chicago located entirely in Cook County.  It is situated less than 20 miles from downtown Chicago. Ease of commute is a common draw to this town, as LaGrange offers two train depots, while only being a municipality of 16,000 residents. This railway is the same Metra system (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) which services Western Springs and Hinsdale. There’s the option of driving in on either Interstate 55 or Interstate 290. Both of Chicago’s airports, O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport, are within 25 minutes as well.

The trend of tearing down houses and building new ones in their place is well entrenched in LaGrange. The village has embraced this gentrification by supporting the downtown businesses with a multi deck parking garage.

This is a fun downtown with many restaurants and entertainment venues.  In fact, the downtown's theme is “Ahh LaGrange.” If you want a great suburb with a high energy downtown, look no further than LaGrange.

There are many turn-of-the-century homes in LaGrange, as well as new construction, which is designed to look old. Invariably, these are traditionally designed homes of custom construction.

The public school system is very good as it is anchored by the Lyons Township High School system. A unique characteristic of this high school is that the juniors and seniors attend the north campus (looks like an Ivy League campus) which is in LaGrange, whereas the freshman and sophomores attend the south campus (looks like a high school) which is located in neighboring Western Springs.
